Update on Masking & Quarantine case

Fellow NUMA Members,

Arguments were heard by Judge Raylene D. Grischow yesterday on the Plaintiff’s motion for TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) in the case regarding mask mandate and quarantine requirements. She took the TRO motion under advisement, meaning that a ruling is differed. Having given both sides until January 27th to file Orders, there will not be a ruling until at least that date.

For now, nothing has changed but the scenarios laid out in yesterday’s email remain a possibility whenever a ruling is issued so we will continue to pay close attention to the case and update you as any information becomes available. If a ruling does change the current regulations on masking and quarantine, you will also hear that information from the District. Again, the purpose of this communication is to keep you informed along the way so that if regulations do suddenly change, you are not blindsided. To that end, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out directly.

Be well, stay safe and look out for one another,

Kevin Bee
