As you likely know, NUEA is still engaged in negotiations with the district. As things are heating up and coming closer to strike action, they are taking steps to encourage the school board to settle the contract to avoid such actions.
One action that NUEA would love your help with is on Monday. We will be rallying at NNHS and then walking to WJHS prior to the closed session of the board meeting.
As a show of solidarity with our fellow IEA-NEA members, we encourage any and all NUMA members to come out and show their support. This show of solidarity is the backbone of union organizing and one of the greatest tools we have when advocating for fair wages and upholding the rights of each and every one of us to work, live and thrive with dignity and fairness.
We really are all in this together. Please show your support in whatever way you can.
PREPARING FOR MONDAY’S BOARD MEETING
March from NNHS to WJHS – Show of Solidarity Rally
WHAT: Naperville Unit Education Association (NUEA) members are rallying to show support for the NUEA negotiations team and to encourage the school board to offer a contract that can be ratified.
WHY: The NUEA started negotiations with the Naperville Community Unit School District 203 in January 2021. Since June 2021, the NUEA and Board team have been working with a mediator to resolve disagreements about compensation and family and parental leave.
WHEN: Monday, 8.2.2021 from 4:45 pm – 6:00 pm
WHERE: Members will first meet at the Naperville North High School Tennis Parking Lots (the entrance is on Mill Street) at 4:45 pm for a rally. Then, we will walk to Washington Junior High School where the school board will hold its meeting. The board meeting starts at 6:00.

- NO SIGNS/FLYERS: We want Board members to see us; signs/flyers will distance us
- NO SPEAKING at the Board meeting is required
