Temporary Increase in Vacation Day Accrual

On Monday May 17th, we signed a Memorandum of Agreement between the District and NUMA granting NUMA employees a temporary increase in vacation day accrual. This agreement allows NUMA employees to bank up to 2 times their annual vacation day accrual, as opposed to the 1.5 times banked allowed for in our 2018-2022 collective bargaining agreement. The agreement went into effect on 5/17 and will remain in effect until June 30, 2022 when our current contract ends.

You will continue to accrue vacation days as normal, but instead of maxing out at 1.5x your yearly accrual you will continue to accrue days at your normal rate until you reach 2x your yearly accrual. For example: if you have 6 years of service and therefore earn 14 days per year, instead of maxing out once you have 21 days banked you will continue to earn days until you reach 28.

Please make sure to inform any NUMA employees in your buildings who may not regularly check their email of this temporary change.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me or Gretchen Gallois, Director of Human Resources
