–Summer leadership program is discussed. Sample letter for new members stating privileges
and union information
–The need for building rep meetings is discussed. Possible dates near Thanksgiving or Winter
break. Building reps need to know what to tell their staff. Information for building reps to be
sent out.
–Leslie will be attending the Partners in Growth breakfast to represent NUMA.
–One Conference in Oakbrook discussed.
–Elections are discussed. Multiple ballots for elections are brought up but said to be too
complicated. Want to keep elections simple and efficient. Need training on elections process.
Leslie has Illinois school code books for reference.
–RA conference discussed. We have one representative per 100 members. Possibly more if
we are clustered with NESPA and NTA
–We now have only electronic dues payments – no more checks.
We should have an updated member list as of 9/3
–HR issues discussed. Members are having issues communicating with HR payroll. Vacation
time is not accruing properly, to be fixed by Friday 9/1. Job postings are incorrect, filled
positions are still posted. Action notices are missing.
–9/7 Nicole and Leslie have a labor management meeting with HR scheduled.
Benefits discussed. Want to make sure members are informed of voluntary additional
contributions to IMRF. There will be changes to health insurance, no details yet.
–Discussed getting a new computer for NUMA to use, current one is old and outdated.
Possibly talk to IT department to purchase a refurbished laptop.
